John Edwards
Impact Justified Limited
Profile
John Edwards is the founder of Impact Justified, a consultancy partnering with organisations to understand, measure, and communicate their social, environmental, and economic impact. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Social Value and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, and holds an MA in Social Policy from Liverpool Hope University.
John works across nuclear, defence, water, energy, transport, healthcare, and public sector infrastructure. He is the author of a Wellbeing Impact Assessment methodology grounded in HM Treasury Green Book guidance and the ONS National Wellbeing framework, applied to date in healthcare infrastructure, water quality, and rail.
He believes the best impact work is done in partnership with clients, with the people and places most affected by decisions, and with other practitioners. Alongside his client work, he is part of an emerging peer collective exploring what a more coherent practitioner response to social value, evaluation, and sustainability might look like.
His guiding principle, and the thread that runs through his practice and his writing, is that long-term impact is always human before it is technical.
