Chapter One
Profile
I'm the Business Development Manager at Chapter One, where I build relationships with corporate partners and connect them with our online reading volunteer programme, helping children build confidence in reading and communication skills.
I bring over two decades of experience in primary education leadership, including senior roles as Acting Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher across several schools in Derbyshire and the West Midlands. Throughout my career, I have led curriculum development, staff training and appraisal, and built strong multi-agency partnerships with organisations such as the police and local community trusts to support pupils and families. I also have first-hand experience of running a small business, having successfully set up and managed a franchise delivering pre-school activities.
Since moving into the charity sector, I have been developing my understanding of the social value space, exploring how Chapter One's programme can deliver meaningful, measurable impact for corporate partners while addressing educational inequality. My background in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and data-driven evaluation gives me a strong foundation for translating social value principles into practical, effective partnerships that benefit both businesses and the children Chapter One supports.
